Job Description: 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

  • In operational phase they will be responsible for all electrical planned and corrective maintenance on Khormor installations in accordance with both local and industry standards. 
  • They shall undertake Low Voltage (LV) and medium Voltage (MV) switching in accordance with operational procedures.
  • They shall be fully conversant with hazardous area classification and electrical material classes.
  • This is a multi-tasking role to support the Production Operations team in field activities and they will be involved with Fault-Finding, Root Cause Analysis and repair of all Electrical equipment and systems.
  • They shall provide input to creating and reviewing maintenance procedures, job plans and work instructions.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Work Responsibilities and Planning

  • Ensures that the team have a safe place of work through compliance with and regular review of procedures (including Task Instructions, Permits-to-Work, Task Risk Assessments, and Toolbox Talks).
  • Ensures compliance with Government Standards, Legislation and Regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with Company Standards, Philosophies, Procedures and Guidelines.
  • Acts as a Senior Authorised Electrical Person, Responsible for Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) switching in accordance with operational procedures 
  • Leads onsite maintenance activities at Khormor LPG recovery plant.
  • Leads major repairs and overhaul works, supports other disciplines, acts as worksite supervisor for contractors, vendors and specialists as required.
  • Conducts fault-finding and Root Cause Analysis on Electrical and related problems both independently and in liaison with vendor specialists. 
  • Completes and Records Proof Testing of Safety & Environmental Critical Equipment (SECE) to ensure that it is operating in compliance with its Performance Standard.  Ensures that any failures are recorded and that remedial work is completed in a timely manner. 
  • Ensures that Plant and Equipment is maintained according to compliance and integrity standards to meet expected reliability and ‘uptime’ Key Performance Indicators.
  • Ensures that all activities are fully and accurately recorded in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (SAP).
  • Ensures that all Plant and Equipment changes are fully and accurately recorded in the CMMS.
  • Ensures that all Maintenance Procedures are present, accurate and updated in the CMMS.
  • Ensures that all spares information, including equipment and task BOMs are present, accurate and updated in the CMMS.
  • Works with the Planning Team to prepare weekly, bi-weekly and monthly work and manpower planning and scheduling within the CMMS.
  • Works with the Planning Team to prepare Work including Task Lists, spares requirements and support services within the CMMS.
  • Works with the Planning Team and Discipline Supervisors to manage the Work Backlog.
  • Collects data related to equipment health.  Proposes improvements to risk-based inspection and condition monitoring of equipment and supports the Reliability team to conduct and improve equipment reliability programs.
  • Maintains proper housekeeping and appropriate system cleanliness.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to trainee, junior and technician-level personnel.
  • Participates in Emergency Response organisation as required (this may include responsibilities in Search & Rescue and Fire Fighting).

Continuous Improvement

  • Participates in the Company Competence Assessment Program to facilitate Personal Development
  • Compiles information and conducts studies to identify areas for improvement of facilities and processes on a continuous basis.
  • Recommends improvement actions and practices to senior management.

 

Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required:

  • Electrical Technical Institute level.  Preferred candidate with MV switching certificate, COMPEX certificate, AEP certified
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry.  Be in the possession of necessary certification to operate MV and LV electrical switch gear and maintain Ex rated equipment.
  • Experience with MV variable speed drives (Siemens) and MV motor (11kv) preferable
  • Fully experienced in working with safety management systems and a basic understanding of local safety management legislation.
  • In-depth understanding of Oil & Gas production equipment, processes and utility systems.
  • In-depth experience with Electrical protection devices.
  • In-depth experience in Power Generation and generator operations.
  • In-depth experience of LV and MV motors and controls, Generators up to 11kV, Step-up and step-down transformers preferred.
  • In-depth experience in MV and LV switching and procedures and fully competent in applying MV and LV isolations.
  • Excellent experience in a CMMS system, SAP preferred.
  • Experience in commissioning is an advantage for a candidate.
