 Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The position will be accountable for the following key deliverables:

  • Well and reservoir management plans are in place and executed in a timely manner with results incorporated into the next phase of field development.
  • Ownership of the company hydrocarbon maturation funnel, ensuring that the delivery of projects through the funnel is integrated with the organizational and financial plans of the company.
  • Delivery of exploration plans ensuring they are in compliance with contractual obligations but also optimized to generate company value.
  • Delivery of appraisal plans to ensure adequate information is gained to derisk further field development whilst optimizing early revenue generation.
  • Delivery of field development plans to ensure maximum value is obtained from the asset.
  • Management of the annual reserves reporting exercise and coordinating third party reserves audits as and when required.
  • Preparation of the upstream part of all venture Work Plan and Budget exercises.
  • Custodian of the company business planning process, liaising closely with all departments that have a role to play in the process.
  • Leading workshops and events with venture partners to ensure outcomes are in line with project strategies.
  • Leading ad-hoc studies as and when required.

The Upstream Manager will support the Upstream Director in ensuring that all plans, reporting exercises and budget preparations are executed in a timely manner. As a key member of the Upstream management team, the incumbent will have a part to play in external engagements with partners and host authorities, e.g., as a member of operating or management committees.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel to partner meetings and workshops, including but not limited to Iraq.

 

Key requirements:

  • 20 + years of upstream oil and gas experience, preferably in an IOC or large independent with exposure to working in operating areas around the globe.
  • Demonstrated experience of managing upstream staff in delivery of both technical and business aspects of the E&P cycle and across subsurface and drilling functions. Broadening assignments in E&P planning, strategy and economics roles will be beneficial.
  • The role requires frequent engagement and interaction with the other functions within Crescent Petroleum but outside of the upstream team. A demonstration of working and delivering results in this type of environment will be an advantage.
  • The Upstream team works in a matrix type organization where the technical functions deliver to the various ongoing upstream developments. The incumbent will work closely with the Upstream Director to ensure that resources are prioritized according to the business deliverables and results delivery remains a priority.
  • The role is very hands-on, and the incumbent will need to be as comfortable at directing work as undertaking the work themselves.
