MAJOR FUNCTIONS

  • Supports and participates in the planning and management of various projects in order to ensure that the project cycle is completed meeting agreed standards and objectives. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage and coordinate engineering, procurement, construction activities & deliverables for all sub-projects to ensure inter alignment and meet overall project objectives.
  • Define sub-project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Review and closely monitor project schedule and costs. 
  • Ensure project execution within time, budget and QHSES requirements by allocating resources, managing risks/opportunities and changes. 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement/Sourcing/Supply Chain and Operations towards compliant and timely execution of projects.
  • Coordinate Operations and Maintenance inputs into project phases
  • Create and maintain a multi-disciplinary projects interface register to ensure alignment of all technical interfaces between projects. Proactively advises engineering manager and other stakeholders of discrepancies and facilitates solutions. 
  • Verify that engineering tasks are strictly carried out in compliance with the contract requirements, and in particular with the company’s safety procedures, recognised engineering practices, project specifications and standards.
  • Manage and monitor vendors and contractors work to ensure adherence to contractual scopes of work.
  • Assist contractor teams to produce engineering/construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budgets
  • Review and provide input to contractor technical queries, concession and variation requests.
  • Provide specification interpretation and technical guidance for various projects to Senior Engineers and/or Project Managers.
  • Ensure timely internal and external reporting.
  • Ensure project close out (technical and commercial) with appropriate feedback.

 
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL, TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Project Management qualifications such as PMP or equivalent preferred but not mandatory)
  • 10 years’ of experience within the oil and gas industry, preferably with an EPC Contractor; of which at least 3 years of Project Engineering experience.
