Job Description:
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for delivery of exploration, appraisal and production wells, meeting or exceeding KPI’s for HSE, cost and performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
HSE Accountability
- Promotes HSE initiatives and ensures continuous compliance with all applicable HSE policies. Leads HSE efforts by example. Accountable for meeting HSE KPI’s for the entire well delivery team.
Drilling Engineering & Operations
- Directs the Drilling Superintendents and ensures all programs are executed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Directs the Engineering team and ensures compliance to the established Well Delivery Process.
- Reviews and approves corporate standards related to E&P activities. Ensures routine updates of standards and processes.
- Ensures compliance with established standards and processes. Keeps records of any dispensations.
- Works closely with other department leaders to ensure alignment of goals.
- Works closely with subordinates to ensure operational feasibility and efficiency of the programs.
- Communicates effectively to ensure all objectives of the programs, policies and standards are understood by all concerned parties.
- Reviews and updates drilling plans to ensure availability of resources, rigs and equipment.
- Performs regular wellsite inspections to ensure safety programs are conducted and monitored by the drilling contractors in a manner consistent with HSE policies.
- Reviews and technically approves evaluation of contracts for drilling rigs and other drilling services.
Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering preferred. Valid well control certificate required.
- Minimum of 20 years of Oil field experience. Minimum 15 years as Drilling Manager, Drilling Superintendent or Drilling Supervisor. Minimum 5 years in drilling and/or completions engineering roles.
- Regional experience an advantage. Whilst based in Sharjah, the incumbent will be expected to make regular working trips to Iraq.
