Job Description: 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees the design, installation, and maintenance of audio-visual systems
  • Managing and administering the AV & home automation equipment and software currently deployed at Crescent locations including, but not limited to, group companies and residence locations in the UAE and around the globe.
  • Developing, Reviewing and refining the requirements, scope of work, bill of materials, and system specifications for each project.
  • Developing and updating AV drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Communicating and resolving any technical issues, changes, or risks that may arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Conducting site surveys, testing, and commissioning of AV systems and providing training and support to end-users
  • Design and setup of meeting/conference rooms to provide an immersive AV experience considering room acoustics, coverage, aesthetics, etc.
  • Managing the documentation and records of the project, such as contracts, invoices, warranties, and manuals
  • Inventory/Asset Management
  • Provide AV support to the user community as and when required.
  • Support Calls will be handled by phone, in person or remotely. All Support calls will have to be logged into the IT ticketing system and closed in a timely manner as per predefined SLAs.
  • Will be an escalation point for AV/home automation related issues. 
  • Will work closely with vendors to identify and implement/procure relevant technologies required to support or enhance AV/home automation services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Planning & deployment of changes to existing AV infrastructure based on client requirements.
  • Planning & deployment of AV infrastructure for new projects including, but not limited to, design, programming, recommendation of equipment, proposal reviews, etc.
  • Administration & maintenance of AV and home automation equipment and software.
  • Run periodic video, audio and signal testing. Diagnose and resolve technical hardware, software and connectivity issues related to AV/home automation systems and services provided by the IT team.
  • Ensure all AV and home automation systems are always available and in working condition.
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance from users within the organization in person, via phone or remotely.
  • Perform routine hardware and software maintenance on AV and home automation equipment including any upgrades and patches that may be required.  
  • Identify and escalate situations as required.
  • Troubleshoot communication or connectivity related issues on AV and/or home automation systems.  
  • Provide prompt and quick service.
  • Provide Support and assistance to System Engineers, Support Engineers and IT Managers when required in setting up or troubleshooting AV/home automation systems.

Reporting and Working Relationships

  • Reports to the Manager, IT Infrastructure.
  • Will work closely with Interior Designers, MEP Engineers, Electrical engineers, etc., as required on Projects.
  • Liaises and coordinates with the Systems Engineers and Support Engineers to resolve issues/problems facing users.
  • Liaises with external suppliers to secure AV products and services.
  • Exhibits and maintains an excellent relationship with all Crescent staff.

Continuous Improvement of Position

  • Ensure that every issue is logged and followed up with all concerned stakeholders till it has been satisfactorily resolved.
  • Conduct regular research on contemporary AV/home automation practices and recommend improvements/enhancements.

Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics or a degree in audio/visual engineering, sound engineering or a related field, such as digital media.
  • Experience & certification on Crestron, Savant, RTI or other similar technologies
  • Licensing certificates like the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) will be an advantage.
  • Experience/certification with any other AV platform such as Dynalite, Neutron, RTI, Biamp, Bitwise, Wlan, etc..
  • Project Management certifications such as PMP or Agile will be an advantage.

Minimum Professional Experience Required

  • 10 to 12 years’ experience with AV and home automation systems, preferably with a reputed AV/IT Solutions Provider or Systems Integrator

Special Requirements and Conditions

  • Driving license is a must.
  • Own car will be an advantage.
