Job Description:
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
- Lead and manage all IT activities supporting offices and field operations, ensuring reliable, secure, and available technology services, not limited to IT infrastructure, networks, OT, field communications, field mobility, cyber security, cloud services, and enterprise systems in Kurdistan region. Served as the primary IT liaison with operations, maintenance, HSE, engineering, and third-party vendors to enable safe, compliant, and efficient production and asset management. Responsible for IT strategy execution including infrastructure design, deployment, operations, incident response, and continuous improvement. Manage IT staff and contractors, budgets, vendor relationships, and compliance with corporate IT policies and industry regulations. Interface with corporate IT and other internal stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Develop IT policies and processes and upon approval directs their implementation including procedures and controls covering all areas of IT functions so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality and cost-effective services.
IT System Management
- Review project plans and coordinate project activities.
- Develop and interpret organizational goals, policies, and procedures.
- Develop computer information resources, provide data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery.
- Consults with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.
- Coordinates with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
- Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.
- Maintain the integrity and continual operation of all IT environments.
- Ensure the continual functioning of mission critical computer operations.
- Maintain security and privacy of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
- Develop, review, and certify all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans related to IT.
- Responsible for maintaining service levels for technical support to users.
- Evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements.
- Oversee daily IT operations inclusive of servers, networks, CCTV, access control, radio, PAGA, and telephony.
- Ensure high availability IT service performance and maintain defined SLAs.
- Produce technical specifications, RFPs, and evaluate/select vendors and contractors.
- Manage IT projects from planning through commissioning.
- Coordinate incident response and forensic investigation for cyber security and IT incidents.
Leadership, Training and Development
- Ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives through the leadership of the IT department team – setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal guidance, feedback and appraisal – to maximize subordinate and departmental performance.
- Monitor and analyze organization wide IT training needs and liaise with the HR department to provide appropriate training provision so that all employees have the required IT user capability to enable delivery of business objectives.
Minimum Professional Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology and/or Electronics/Telecommunication, preferably with a master’s degree in information systems/technology
- Minimum 10-15 years of related IT experience with at least 5 years in the middle or senior managerial role, preferably in the oil and gas/manufacturing sector with hands on experience to Communications/Monitoring systems, hardware and networking troubleshooting skills
