Job Description: 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

  • Works hand in hand with the Operations Superintendent, to achieve safe, compliant operation.
  • Focuses on embedding operating discipline with a mindset for continuous improvement and Operational Discipline.
  • Develops and implements quality procedural practices that add value and impact to the asset, aligned to critical goals as set by Superintendent.
  • Ensures that all key equipment and units operate in accordance with procedures, including adherence to best practice for preparation for Maintenance.
  • Seeks and delivers continuous improvement opportunities aligned to site initiatives and strategic goals.
  • Promotes and verifies through audit and mentoring, compliance with site Control of Work policies and HSE Regulations and Procedures.
  • Mentor shift team members in all aspects of plant operations, providing coaching and development skills to support succession plans in support of Operations Superintendent.

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Plant Management & Processes

  • Seeks continuous improvement in Production and HSE performance by ensuring safety and environmental Standards and Procedures are followed within the workplace.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to Operators in the areas of PTW, Risk Assessment and Isolation standards to ‘raise the bar’.
  • Embed excellent behavioral safety and best practices.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving, supporting production department.
  • Lead and seek continuous improvement to shift handover process including record keeping of relevant information and document control.
  • Supports CRO and shift supervisor to operate plant within design limits to meet performance targets, desired availability metrics and customer demand.
  • Support the planning and execution of shutdowns, slowdowns, and other major maintenance activities.
  • Embed improved operator efficiencies into the team through excellence in communication, vigilance, reporting and a “right first time” ethos.

Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required:

  • An Engineering or technical qualification at Degree level or extensive and applicable Industry Experience in similar facilities and roles.
  • Minimum 20 years in hydrocarbon facilities, with 15 Years at Senior Operator/Supervisor level.
  • Experience of onshore Gas & LPG plant is essential.
  • Highly experienced with in-depth knowledge in Control of Work/PTW is essential, with experience of implementing an eCoW system.
  • Must be able demonstrate ability to coach and mentor at all levels.
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching local nationals in a diverse multi-cultural environment is essential.
  • Experience of working in remote locations, on rotation is preferred.
