Job Description: 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS 

  • This is a rotation position, based at the Khormor Gas Processing Plant, Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.  
  • Takes the lead for commissioning activities as directed by Commissioning Manager. Plan for commissioning and start-up activities right from start to completion with HSE, Quality and Schedule as the major considerations. 
  • Report/ Highlight if there is any compromise with HSE, Quality and Schedule. Initiates corrective activities on site to meet yardsticks pertaining to Quality and Schedule. 
  • Supervises Contractor/ Sub-Contractors team of Supervisors, Skilled and semi-skilled personnel. 
  • Record work executed and potential change in scope of work. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Supervises all commissioning activities at Khormor project site. 
  • Coordinating planning and execution of assigned commissioning and startup activities facilitating safely achieving acceptance within the assigned budget and in accordance with the project master schedule
  • Supervises contractors plans and procedures for transitions from Construction (Area Based) Mechanical Completion (System/ Sub-system based) to System Completion
  • Reviews and approves contractors commissioning and startup procedures
  • Ensures procedures are strictly followed during commissioning and start-up activities
  • Advises Project Team of concerns and corrective actions
  • Provides input to project management, engineering, and construction to ensure commissioning and startup requirements are incorporated into project activities, including review of project designs and construction to ensure plant operability and operating personnel safety.
  • Liaise with other disciplines such to facilitate efficiently completing all commissioning tasks
  • Manages assigned performance test runs
  • Perform continuous risk analysis of commissioning and start-up works
  • Coordinating the compilation of mechanical completion and commissioning dossiers

 

 

Required Skills  

  • Good knowledge of the industrial context, contract practice and oil & gas operations in general.
  • Ability to plan, conduct and direct commissioning studies and procedures and development projects of major significance, which are highly difficult and complex in nature, requiring the expert application of engineering and associated scientific knowledge
  • Fully conversant with good engineering practice

 

Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 10 years’ experience in engineering or technical management of gas processing facilities with an EPC Contractor and client organization
  • Good knowledge of the industrial context, contract practice and Oil & Gas operations in general.
  • Good sense of team spirit leadership, strong interpersonal & soft communication.
  • Fluent in English – verbal and written
