MAJOR FUNCTIONS
Managing the development and implementation of accounting policies, systems and procedures for KRI Operations across production, drilling and projects functions. Formation of annual and interim work program budgets, prepares Accounting/Financial reports while ensuring adherence to all relevant internal and statutory controls. Facilitates various auditing procedures when required. Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Reports to the Director, Business Services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee and manage the financial control processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data.
- Develop and enforce internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of work program and budgets and its release for Operations/Project Development Activities
- Perform regular reviews of financial transactions and reconciliations to identify and address discrepancies or issues.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements related to treasury activities and financial transactions.
- Manage and lead the payroll processing for in country workforce while ensuring local governmental compliance on payroll matters (submission of quarterly PIT/Social Security deposits and returns etc.)
- Analyse financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for financial performance improvement.
- Ensure that financial reports comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies, responsible for
- Prepare and finalize financial statements of local entities in accordance with local laws and accounting standards (including managing the audit of the financial statements), filing annual local returns with various authorities, addressing enquiries and successful closure.
- Responsible for all Statutory, Internal, Government and Partner audits. Compilation of all audit requests, coordinating with various internal stakeholders, closing out queries with auditors, review and finalization of responses and submissions to auditors on Info Requests/Reports etc.
- Driving the automation in various routine and ad hoc reporting, ensure optimum utilisation of ERP and other tools and delivery of further enhancements as required.
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate accurate financial reporting and analysis.
- Maintaining relationship with bankers, managing currency exposures and monitors the funds movements (revenue and expenses).
- Builds highly performing account teams by providing coaching, updating with the latest standards and developments in accounting field, formulate the training and development with HR department and putting succession planning in place.
Reporting and Communication
- Reports to the Director, Business Services (KRI) on all Budgeting/Accounting/Financial reporting and compliance matters.
- Liaises with relevant departments such as Supply Chain, HR, Operations, Projects & Drilling (on budgets, contracts, MIS, Payroll and other matters)
- Liaises with external bodies and representatives (e.g. local regulatory authorities & external auditors) to ensure ease and compliance on all accounting/financial matters.
Continuous Improvement of Position
Conducts regular research on Accounting/Financial best practices and recommends subsequent strategies and plans to improve accounting operating functions.
Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and or/Finance
- Professional certification CA OR ACCA
- At least 8-10 years of accounting experience in an organization of reasonable size preferably in middle east.
- Experience in a similar industry or field is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working on ERP (S4/Hana Preferable) based accounting environment with exposure to budgeting/reporting/cost optimisation.
- Working knowledge on PowerBI will be a plus.
